Meet Anne
Meet anne Bonney
I came home one day from a fun day at second grade, and my parents sat my brother and me down.
“We’re moving to Saudi Arabia this summer.”
I listened to my parents process this with my brother, wondering what the big deal was. We had already moved 4 times in my short 7 years. I was used to packing and making new friends. I wasn’t sure what Saudi Arabia was, but from the sounds of it there was a lot of camels and sand, which was pretty cool.
They finally turned their attention to me. “What do you think, Annie?”
I looked at them, puffed up my little kid chest and said…
“I’ve got places to go and people to see.”
Change is the only constant
And that has been my philosophy ever since. After moving 27 times, attending 13 different school from K-Masters, living on 4 continents, and having 6 distinct and successful careers, change has become my comfort zone, and embracing the discomfort that comes with it has helped me lead a fun and fulfilling life.
I’ve studied the anatomy of habit and change, and our reactions to change, and thrive on igniting people’s courage to deal more effectively with change, because as Heraclitus said, “Change is the only constant in life.” So we might as well get good at it.
