| I recently purchased this Oasis Mini (grounded.so) and as I was sitting there staring at the little metal ball drawing incredibly accurate designs, I realized that there are some emotional intelligence lessons to learn from that little ball rolling around in the sand, so I thought I’d share them with you! Patience: The little ball slowly draws different designs. You can’t rush it. You don’t know what it’s going to look like when it’s done. You have to enjoy it along the way, and check back periodically to see how it’s developing. Kind of like life! Always developing, and if it doesn’t feel done…just wait! Impermanence: When the little ball is done with a design, it starts the spiral reset and moves on to the next design. The next time you check back, it could be a completely different design. Kind of like life…always moving, always flowing, or as I say when I’m in the middle of something hard…”This has got to end eventually.” Good or bad, it keeps moving forward. Sometimes you miss things, and sometimes the next thing is even more exciting! Ongoing Development: As my wonderful friend Amazing Soul said today on her podcast, (See below for the link to that. It’s RICH!) “THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION!” Rarely in life do we arrive. Things are always developing, always changing. Enjoy the now! Things are changing at light speed these days. Some of them are great! Some of them don’t feel like it right now. Find the good in the moments, find your patience and a level of satisfaction with impermanence and you’ll build resilience, even in the tough times. Go get ’em Tiger. |
