"The best time to plant a tree is twentyfive years ago.
The second best time is NOW!"
There are a bunch of things that I'm SUPER proud of coming together in my life right now.
- All application materials have been completed and submitted for my Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. (The only designation for professional speakers, awarded by the National Speakers Association after rigorous evaluation)
- I have surpassed 200 episodes of my podcast and listenership is finally growing.
- I am almost done getting all the data entry in to get my Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system so it will be up and running for my business.
- I completed a 480 mile virtual hike of the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage trail. (I'll do it in real life within the next 5 years!)
All 4 of these things have been a long time coming! I started the Camino hike in the summer of 2021 (right before I broke my ankle!). I've been chipping away at getting my CRM up and running since I bought it in early 2021. I started my podcast in 2016 and I've been working towards my CSP for 7 years...no....for my whole career!!

In today's society, there is so much immediate gratification that the big things that will take a long time to accomplish have become super uncomfortable and often feel insurmountable, but as Prince said, (and Eddie Cantor and a bunch of other people according to the internet)
"Sometimes it takes years for a person to become an overnight success!"
And of course the old Chinese proverb... that the second best time to plant a tree is NOW!

So what is that thing that you'd like to have accomplished in a year? 5 years? 10 years? START!! The best time is NOW! Don't put it off. PUNCH IT MARGARET! Decide to work on it a little every day or week. Small bites...even TINY ones over time will add up to a mountain of success and pride and courage and confidence and belief in yourself and all that happy horse stuff!!
And I tell you this...another peak has unfolded in front of me to climb...but the view right now is glorious!
Go get 'em, Tiger!!
